Until now, high resolution, premium VR content requires consumer to either be wired in or make complete downloads: current streaming technology is just not up to supporting high enough resolution 360º VR videos.
At Visbit, we developed View-Optimized Streaming technology to enable cloud-based streaming of 4K to 8K resolution 360° video. With our solution, only the visible section of the 360 sphere will be streamed at high resolution. Whenever a user turns their head to another direction, our patented technology is able to quickly grab and display high resolution content with a seamless transition. This process saves lots of network traffic and still allows users to see high resolution content all the time.
Based on this technology, we are building an end-to-end streaming service from transcoding and hosting to streaming and playing of premium 360° videos.
